The Association of Kerala Medical Graduates (AKMG) is a non profit organization of physicians and dentists of Kerala (India) origin practicing in Canada and the United States of America. AKMG aims to maintain and preserve the identity and heritage of its members and to provide them a forum for scientific, educational, cultural and social interaction.
The Association maintains a directory of its members. Amongst its goals are assistance to medical and dental students, physicians and dentists in obtaining professional training in Canada and the United States, improving cooperation between north American medical societies and their counterparts in Kerala, rendering medical assistance to the indigent, and making charitable contributions to eligible agencies permissible under 501 c (3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.

AKMG – Association of Kerala Medical Graduates – is a Professional, Social and Cultural organization of medical and dental graduates of Kerala origin residing in the USA and Canada. The LRC, established by the AKMG - Trivandrum Medical College Alumni, is a token of love, respect and admiration to their alma mater. It is a manifestation of their efforts to make timely information available to the doctors, Post Graduates and undergraduates on the latest medical and surgical techniques and technologies. LRC functions as a dedicated facility attached to the Medical College Library. A 128 Kbps leased line connectivity facilitates high speed Internet at the centre. The Centre has an IBM Server, CD Jukebox software of ER&DC, along with a cluster of twelve PC workstations and peripherals including Scanner, Printer, Photocopier etc. The server machine enables fast access of medical data over the Internet. The Akshaya CD Juke box enables users to access multiple CD’s and serve them over the network. Currently, the system can store about 150 CD’s and is capable of expansion by addition of more storage devices. Users can access these CD’s through a simple menu system. The jukebox is incorporated with a search engine by which users can search CD’s of their choice. The Centre is also provided with a host of web-based resources such as Med-Search, Textbooks and access to all leading medical journals and also have access to MD Consult , Medline and UpToDate.com


The centre has a conference room for discussions and meetings. The conference room will be equipped with LCD projection and networking support. The facility is fully air-conditioned with its own uninterrupted electric supply and back-up generator capable of supporting all the functions.
The LRC membership, charging for the usage of the facilities, accounting, report generation and other centre management functions are proposed to be implemented through a Smart card based system. This will ensure a transparent and smooth operation with no cash transactions in the centre.
